Immortalized more than eighty times by the master of Aix, this silhouette has become the symbol of a land dear to them both.
Since 1920, the Confiserie du Roy René has carried on an ancestral savoir-faire in the heart of Aix-en-Provence, the same city where Cézanne admired each morning the unique light bathing the sacred mountain. Cézanne captured this light on his canvases; Roy René finds it again in the golden glow of its calissons. Just as the painter sought the essence of Provence through his brush, the Confiserie strives to distill its flavors. The almond trees Cézanne immortalized are cultivated and replanted by Roy René on the Provençal hills, with each harvest transformed into sweets that tell the story and terroir of the region.
