Shortbread assortment box

This box contains three varieties of traditional shortbread: almond, lemon/verbena and candied fruit. Each biscuit is made with wheat flour, butter, eggs, sugar, almonds and a touch of fleur de sel de Camargue.

A little history

The story goes that the Marquise de Sablé (de Souvré) gave Louis XIV's court some dry, round biscuits. The king's brother, nicknamed ‘Monsieur’, liked them so much that he asked his butler Vatel to serve him some every morning. In honour of the marquise, these biscuits were called ‘sablés’.

Ingredients: Wheat flour 22.8%, sugar, butter, gluten-free flour (rice flour, buckwheat flour, psyllium), eggs 9.7%, semi-salted butter, almonds powder 5%, toasted almonds 5%, candied fruit 3% (bark orange, cherry, lemon peel, pineapple, glucose syrup 22.3%, water, cane sugar, concentrated lemon juice), lemon zest 1%, extra virgin olive oil, “fleur de sel” from Camargue.

May contain traces of other nuts.
