Each is shaped from almonds, candied Cavaillon melon and orange peel, placed on a thin sheet of host and sublimated by a royal glaze. The recipe, unchanged for centuries, has been handed down from generation to generation since 1920.

Symbolizing Le Roy René's commitment to reviving almond cultivation in Provence, each calisson du Roy René is made with 50% almonds from Provence, illustrating a strong link with the Provencal territory.
