Hazelnut caramels
Le Roy René hazelnut caramels are prepared in copper cauldrons, then shaped using old-fashioned machines. Before being cut into small cubes, each caramel is wrapped in gold foil, for an elegant, traditional finish.
The recipe combines water, milk, sugar and Provençal olive oil, which replaces butter or cream, adding a clear Provençal note. The hazelnuts add a crunchy texture and sweet flavour to the caramel.
Serve with coffee or tea, or simply for pleasure.
